Had a BBQ with the Rucksack club, then we went to the park to watch the fireworks - everything was shot from one single location, and because there was little wind after a couple of minutes such a big cloud of smoke had formed that the explosions all but disappeared. We essentially watched a smoky cloud for half an hour that was illuminated from within and all we saw were colourful flashes

Another blatant steal from FB ... it's no longer car parts for me, but rather camera gear.

Agreed. Except for the fact that I don't have a wife. Or a significant other. Or a car, actually. Although I plan to achieve car ownership next year. Even then, it'll probably cost less than my camera gear.

For me, Mrs. Racer is also a gearhead. Having owned many great cars over the years (a '57 Chevy hardtop, a '57 Chevy convertible, a '56 Ford Crown Victoria, a '61 Chevy Impala convertible, a '64 Chevy Impala SS 409 convertible a '67 Chevy Chevelle SS, a '62 Chevy Impala, a '53 GMC pickup, a '61 Ford T Bird, a '68 Ford Mustang, a '66 GMC short bed pickup, a '61 Ford Starliner, a '62 Ford Falcon 2 door to name a few), there is never a chance to get over on her when it comes to car stuff.

She knows what the value is of these things.

Camera gear is only easier because she is overwhelmed by the sheer volume of gear.

And this is why I will not buy a K3.

Usually in parliament 'hear hear' is said with enthusiasm but on the news last week I heard a bit of recording from the Commons where it was said in a manner which sounded like it was said by a bored teenager who was being forced to say it.

I was puzzling for a long time with the homonym interpretation 'here here' and thought that is a weird thing to say in the context.

If you heard the homonym on a school sports field, such as playing soccer, 'here here' is a call for a pass, and the opposition players to move to intercept it.

Has Mark been around the last couple of days?

NZ would have a good cricket team if they got a few more batsmen and a few bowlers.

Oh, Mark, I didn't mean it as a double whammy!
Find NZ-Ross's party and try and cheer up.

(but I must repeat that this match is going particularly well)
