Nothing new here from me......I did discover some artificial cheddar cheese at Dollar General. Pretty cheap..... Maybe I'll try some with the $1.89 Shiraz I found there too?

Try what with the shiraz. Maybe use as a disinfectant after an accident. A practice from ancient times.

Here in Dundee it's alright - strong gales and torrential rain for a couple of hours in the afternoon, but now it's just 'normal windy'. In other places it's been more extreme.

Some lunatic attempted Ben Nevis today via the Observatory gully - a route that in a Facebook post the Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team who had to get that genius down described as "On the scale of difficulty this route is certain death!"

Storm Abigail is expected to leave us tomorrow, but the remnants of Hurricane Kate are to follow - it's going to be a very wet weekend, and obviously I will spent it in the mountains. Or as we say in Scotland "There's no bad weather, just bad clothes."

Seems it is coming this way a bit too over the weekend.

Scotland, a place I should go sometime. Maybe mid winter with the family.

I have been waiting for the announcement of the k3 for some time.Now that the camera is out and seeing the pics and seeing "ricoh on the back of the screen turns me off.Only a matter of time before we see Ricoh on the front of the camera.I think ricoh just shot themselves in the foot.My reasoning behind this is I make a living in photography.I shoot lots of weddings and It seems more people ask on what camera I'am using.I have had quite a few people turn me down because I shoot with pentax.They just know canon and nikon.I l was turned down on other major sporting events because I shoot with Pentax.This all happened a few years back and I will admit that some people are starting to recognize that pentax can keep up with the big guys.If Ricoh puts their name in front of the camera I feel it will throw them back to the dark ages..I'am quite happy with my k5s and all my pentax glass and will continue to shoot pentax,but hesitating to by new equiptment because of this matter.I do also own nikon and canon slr's but I'am a pentaxian and as long as it says Pentax on the front of the camera I'am happy.

I have succumbed again ... this was at the Nantes swap meet and the sirens got me.

I offered 10€, and the seller countered with 12€ ... so I succumbed and said "d'accord" ... then he threw the case in for free. Drats.

The meter is dead as I expected, but the 55/1.4 Tomioka otuA nonekiR is fine ... just suuuuuuuuper sloooooooow blades. But fine for a DSLR ...

Too bad about the meter, though it is probably serviceable. The Copal Square shutter is probably fully functional even if the meter is not. Yours is the late version Singlex with the hociR riding bold and proud above the lens.

Two things about the Auto Rikenon 55/1.4:

1. The rear element projects further than most and may be too much for some rear caps (knows from experience... )
2. The big flat rear element may "ghost" highlights due to reflections off the sensor on a digital camera. There may also be a center hot spot due to the same.

The case looks pretty sad.
