They are fascinating to me. Their brain is about a third the size of a cat's brain, and a 30th the size of a raccoon's brain. They should be much, much stupider than they are! They are nearly immune to rabies and other viral diseases because their body temperature is too low to keep the viruses alive. They are also immune to most snake venom. Their hissing, screeching, and showing teeth is a usually a bluff - when they "play possum", they really are frightened into a coma-like state.

Sounds like me during speech class in high school. Or trying to talk to a girl. Very sad!

There is another thread in the forum which has somehow shifted focus from the original matter to, now, bird droppings: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/6-pentax-dslr-discussion/308342-how-old-t...ra-bodies.html .

Watch out, it might get long too.

Nah, they're still talking photography. Sort of.

No mention of cheese.

No worries.

If they arise to pose a real threat to this thread we can either amp up the posting (easy peasy), or the almighty mod will just close the other thread down for being off-topic and not-photography related. This thread exists and flourishes under his almighty protection, the other one doesn't. We are special, we are unique. They are not

I think someone famous said, "You can only get so far discussing the artistic merits of bird droppings in photography". (If they didn't, they should have) (I just said it, but I don't think I count.)

The other thread has 1,413 pages to go before they are a threat. And, knowing us, we will get more discussion out of bird droppings than they ever will.

Ever been drive bombed by a Paris pigeon while walking out a Metro station ... ?!

They are "rats with wings" ... and it was a bullseye hit on top of my head, in case I didn't mention that.
