Happiness is tied to what's happening. Smash your hand with a hammer and you will not be happy! Peace is personal and can be permanent! I have been around several people who are in the midst of a trial or horrid happening and still are a peace. Not happy, sometimes quite sad, but at peace!

So when you see a "Peace on Earth" sign this year, think personal cuz it doesn't look like other kind is gonna ever happen!

Oh yes. Be at peace - and look for happiness in the small things. They might not be easy to spot at first, and at times the big things might overshadow them, but there are always some things worth feeling happy about. Always.

You just have to spot them.

Sometimes life seems that way.
This poem has helped me put things in perspective many times over the years:

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.

You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.
