Not that it's all that important....but I just learned that if you eat enough peanuts they can replace your tongue!

(Don't knock the squirrels too much...they are helping move this thread right along!)...although it may not be worth it?

That was my son's other name after he accidently drank antifreeze! He was 18 at the time.
I'm almost afraid to ask, but how does an 18 year old accidentally drink antifreeze?

And did it cause numb nuts? Inquiring minds want to know?

You know what else can replace your tongue? This:

If you're a fish, that is.

"Cymothoa exigua, or the tongue-eating louse, is a parasitic crustacean of the family Cymothoidae. This parasite enters fish through the gills, and then attaches itself to the fish's tongue. The female attaches to the tongue and the male attaches on the gill arches beneath and behind the female. Females are 8–29 millimetres (0.3–1.1 in) long and 4–14 mm (0.16–0.55 in) in maximum width. Males are approximately 7.5–15 mm (0.3–0.6 in) long and 3–7 mm (0.12–0.28 in) wide.[1] The parasite severs the blood vessels in the fish's tongue, causing the tongue to fall off. It then attaches itself to the stub of what was once its tongue and becomes the fish's new tongue."

I am so happy I don't have gills. Although a apparently the genes are there for them, they are just regressive. But I guess if both your parents had gills...

This is what happened: My son was draining antifreeze from his car and used an empty pop bottle for it. I told him to mark it but he didn't. He left it by the back door where we like to keep pop in the cold months. My wife comes home later and finds "pop" by the back door and puts it in the fridge. much later my son looks in the fridge and totally forgetting about his antifreeze bottle, takes a big ol chug of it! Hence the name! Next Christmas we gave him a bottle of pop with a toxic waste gag label on it!

P.S. we had a devil of a time convincing the E.R. nurse this wasn't a suicide attempt!!
