Just to clarify for those who haven't been following: At this point it would be impossible to determine what is and isn't on or off topic and a moderator who shall remain nameless has been one of the regular instigators participants in this thread. Now excuse me while I go make a cheese sandwich.

I'll take mine with pickles - meanwhile, I'll uncork the wine (Bordeaux OK with you) and we meet back here in 5?

What is this thing "on-topic post", of which you speak?
I have been told (and don't hold me to this as it is second hand) that threads have a "topic" which is usually determined by some factors that involve the first post in the thread and the possible intent of the original poster (OP) also known as the "ORIGINAL POSTER".

For example this thread: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/122-lens-clubs/31601-takumar-club.html has something to do with "Takumars" supposedly a form of glass optics than be used on something called a k-3. And the current thread most likely has a topic as well but I no longer really remember what it was. Hence the occasional enlightenment provided by "QUOTING THE OP".

I'm pretty sure it is open to all. They even let me in

It is a little boring though, no wine, beer or cheese, they just post pictures and talk about cameras and lenses..........

Corporate sponsorship is required, but one must be ever-mindful of diminishing something called "the brand" - be careful of what is printed on the back of your club shirt.

No wine, no cheese - I'm out. Here, at least, we're off to mac&cheese, cheese sandwiches and red wine.
