Mark,
Are you a land surveyor?
No, I'm an Architectural Designer. My wife is a Surveyor. I've done a fair few surveys!
My wife and I actually met through work.

This discussion was turning to chemistry, then suddenly veered off course to the fairer sex.
The truly amazing thing is how it did NOT get there by way of bacon, cheese, beer, or squirrels.

Maybe the explosive power of H2O2 blew it right past squirrels to girrels.

Me?

I like them all.

Blonde.

Brunette.

Redhead.

I prefer naturals, and women who posses natural beauty that does not require tons of makeup.
New version K3ii should fit the Bill so to speak ...

Me too, 37 years worth.
I've been retired for several years now, but still have "surveying" dreams pretty often.

Surveying dreams? Interesting. My dreams usually include... Acutally, no, I'll stop right there.

When we arrived in NZ, I found it strange how they place a much higher emphasis on surveying from known points, i.e. traverse sureveys, than did South Africa, where there was a higher reliance on x, y and z coordinate sets. The reason, of course, is that there's a lot more land movement here than in RSA, so any coordinate system will quickly become inaccurate. The other thing I find interesting is how accurate surveyors were a hundred years ago with their chains being dragged around the bush.

Back in my younger days I did a ton of surveying. Started in High School...planted my stake many a time! Nowadays, stakes aren't what they used to be......sort of flimsy ......so surveying is much less frequent.

I think Mrs Rupert might snap your stake in half if you keep up that talk.

The next Discovery is an ugly looking beast. Of course, the newer ones have waaayyy to much electronics to be true off-road vehicles. So, I'll stick to good ol' beam axles, thanks!
i've never gotten beyond the '68 Series lla LWB. All downhill from Leyland.

I guess Otis is a good or bad influence, depending on what your start point is.

He's got me in a lot of trouble...and also kept me out of a lot more. I'd say it's a sort of "iffy" situation with Otis.

Regards!

I'm already getting tired of seeing "why I will not buy a K-1" at the top of the DSLR forum. What a useless thread! There's not one darned word about cheese, bacon, beer, or squirrels!
