If I see one indoors I kill it. Period. No quarter.
Outdoors, okay. Live and let live; but indoors? Dead meat.
So....

I had a hard enough time keeping Mrs Rupert from murdering my work buddy......can you imagine what she would have done to that critter with her shotgun? My bathroom would be a total catastrophe!

Mrs Rupert likes little birdies...outside. She in not much keen on other critters, and in particular spiders. When this one has babies in my shop about once a year I make my shop off limits to her to save the momma and all the little babies. She would think nothing of squashing every one.

I like spiders, maybe not on my toilet seat, but most anywhere else is OK.

Regards!

Me too, very much so.
Our son was over today to cut up a downed tree for us, I sent him home with some of the extra bagels I had purchased.
A carryover from my mom and dad always sending something home with me when I visited.
food, fishing lure, pocket knife, shirt,....................

No, that doesn't seem reasonable.
That's what shotguns are for!

If you're going to have a spider buddy, jumpers are the best. They are friendly, easy to move around if they get in your way, and have distinct personalities. This one, killed in a window opening/closing accident was a good desktop pal for months...I do still miss him. R.I.P. little buddy!

Here there are always little flying critters that get in...mosquitoes,gnats, those aggravating fruit flies that like bananas and show up when one gets overly ripe....or a bowl of apples or pears.....
Desk buddies can keep your place clean and eradicate those tiny pests. They work 24/7 and work for free.

I read once that no matter where you are on earth, excepting the Antarctic, you are never more than 4 feet away from a spider. I know I have seen some that would easily fit on the head of a pin, so that might be mostly true?

I never saw this one until I got the lens close to get a shot of the very tiny bloom.....and there he was!

Spiders.

A necessary evil.

They eat the other bugs we dislike.

I like spiders.

Spiders are good.

In the woods nearby, eating bugs and stuff.

But spiders on my porch, eating bugs and stuff, then pooping everywhere, well, that ain't cool.

Death to porch spiders.

I don't like spider poop on my porch.

Its a nice porch.

There was a song "redback on the toilet seat".

Redback - a really beautiful but dangerous spider. But few people are actually bitten - they tend to avoid people rather than attack.

Nice. In Australia, they call that a "tiny spider".

Agree! We never pass a home with a wraparound porch without Mrs Rupert commenting on it....she would love yours!

This handsome spider lived in my shop a long time......not deadly, but can give a seriously bad bite you would not likely ever forget. One day Mrs Rupert came out to my shop and brought me some ice tea...she saw him in the corner of my workbench and before I could get a word out, he was in spider heaven. He was not aggressive, just lived in in the corner and ate passing bugs. I wanted to prosecute her....but didn't want to end up like the spider.

I'm not much into killing things.....more into feeding things. I'm not one of those rabid "greenie" types....not that they are bad people, it's just that I find most all living things wondrous with their own kind of beauty and perfection.

I did grill a butterfly once.....well, actually my Jeep did.

Regards!

Maybe our wives are related, they both love Dr Pepper and wraparound porches.
Your porch is a dandy Racer!
