Wikipedia says it is laboratory tested and true. It does seem to have some truth to it, no doubt about it.

Maybe that's what I like about Otis and squirrels in general. Even as he is a great and powerful leader, he has not lost his sense of fairness, honesty, integrity and compassion. He seems immune from the corruption that drives men.

He even looks honest and caring.

Everyone knows they can trust Otis!
Regards!

I'm pretty sure that is E Texas prairie dog. In E Texas they don't know the difference.

In E Texas these would be in stew in no time.....I hear they even eat their own children over there?

I have an extra bird? Don't know how that happened, since when I put the nest back up I only saw two eggs? They all look healthy and my helper just dug a fresh batch of worms, so they will eat well again today.

More likely there was and egg down in the straw I didn't see? I tried not to disturb the nest any more than necessary. Cute little guys....I want to get shots of the parents but haven't been able to so far. The parents are very watchful and stay close by....Maybe I'll get lucky today?

Regards!

Carry on? I just sat down!

No way.

I'll just carry on enjoying this bottle of (not so cheap) red.

Oh.

Never mind.

Carry on.

That fox isn't rabid, he's just in an argument with his lawyer on whether to buy a piece of real estate or not!

I'm guessing the same way I found out that squirrels will use your leg as a treetrunk when you're holding bag of peanuts?
I might add that it was not the peanuts I was worried about.

Honest to gosh true story.
I was too young to remember, but the story was told many times.
My dad rescued a baby squirrel from a fallen tree, brought it home and made it a pet, named him Tuesday for the day he was found.
Dad would put a pecan in his pocket, Tuesday would climb down from dad's shoulder, go into his pocket, retrieve the pecan, and return to his shoulder to eat it.
During this time dad would put one in his opposite pocket, Tuesday would return to the first pocket, dig around, then climb back up, go across dad's shoulders and down into the other pocket.

I'm fuzzy about this part, but I think mom discovered that Tuesday had been peeing behind the couch or possibly found nuts stashed in the couch, either way Tuesday was banned from the house.
