Let's not leave Missouri out of the wine talk, it helped save France's wine industry:

"In the mid-19th century, the phylloxera louse destroyed much of the Vitis vinifera grape crop in France. Missouri’s state entomologist, Charles Riley, found that American rootstocks were resistant to the pest. He directed sending millions of rootstocks to France, to which their grape varieties could be grafted. This saved the French wine industry."

Unfortunately, bringing all the American rootstock to Europe brought black rot fungus to Europe as well, and they still haven't found a cure for that. (I'm sure if we import some other American grape or fungus, that will solve the problem with no ill effects whatsoever. Third time's the charm! )

Careful there. I made the mistake of lumping people from that region together once. The outpouring from various folks from the various countries in that area was at some points quite vicious.

I know. But Danes and Norwegians usually have no such problems. Now, if you accuse any of us of being of being Swedish...

I get that all the time.....people think all Texans are crude and half insane, mostly illiterate, loud and boisterous, nasty minded and uncivilized.

Thank goodness I am here to show fellow Pentaxians that we are not all like that in Texas!

Regards!

So true! I don't think you're illiterate.

Right, and you do that by presenting Mrs. Rupert as proof.

It is difficult to say what they were doing. It is my understanding that Linz was billed as the cultural capitol of Europe a few years back, so perhaps it was something cultural? BTW...I know that square...very interesting monument...

Steve
That monument is difficult to photograph because there are so many power lines and tram power supplies all around.
