Recipe of the day, from the 1950's, and in today's St Louis Post Dispatch newspaper.

Velveeta stuffed bacon wrapped hot dogs.

4 hot dogs
2 ounces Velveeta cheese
4 slices bacon
4 hot dog buns

1. Preheat broiler. Slice hot dogs down the middle, almost to the other side. Stuff each one with ½ ounce thinly sliced Velveeta. Wrap with bacon.
2. Broil about 4 inches away from the cooking element until cheese has melted and bacon and hot dogs are done, about 10 minutes. Serve on buns.

Noted - from the 50's!
We had that muck in Oz in the 50's - we don't have it now: free at last, free at last.

Then I guess you're not interested in the tuna ring, pineapple Jello in a can, or green bean casserole recipes either.

Thanks Racer! We will make it that way today. Saw some nce sights at the Devils Slide area yesterday. The TT loved those twisty roads there......

Hard to work this Nextbook so I'll keep it short.

Almost missed that! Damn tiny Nextbook mouse is going crazy.....and it looks like Otis is too!

Got a call from my neighbor...said squirrels attacked him and mugged him as he was loading feed from my shop and he was forced to run for his life. When he came back with his shotgun the feed bins were empty and not a squirrel was in sight. I guess the Beer Man made it out there......drunk squirrels with plenty of feed...sounds about normal.

Regards!

(At least they missed the mullet era.)
Hahahahaha ....'missed the mullet era'. My friend's daughter had her hair/bangs cut like that and she wanted me to braid her hair a certain way and I had to tell her it was impossible with the 'mullet thing' she had going on. So she ask me how she could correct her hair and I told her to politely tell her mom to stop cutting her hair.

Wow...The babies are growing up fast! That is a wonderful report....wait until I tell Otis! I see they are still not "potty trained" but they will grow out of it in time.

What's really nice......the great ride we had today from Ontario to Redmond, where we are stopped for the night. Mrs Rupert has reminded me a dozen times to "Thank Racer!!!"

What a beautiful and scenic drive through wonderful mountain forests and streams and my TT thanks you for mile after mile of very twisty mountain roads. Roads were wonderful. no bumps or humps, smooth as glass. It was our best day of the trip so far. Wonderful and hardly another car on the road.....so nice after all that wall to wall interstate traffic.

We left Twin Falls this morning and had a warning light come on......brake light out. Went to O'reillys and a nice guy there put in new bulbs. From there on it was a great day...we thank you again Racer! We would have never known of this route or even considered cutting across Oregon instead of the interstate.

Got lucky this evening ...every motel room in Primeville was taken.....we have a Best Western Gold Card and they called Redmond and there was one cancellation in a new Best western Plus...we are the first to occupy the room we are in.....very plush and comfy...and I'm ready to crash! Be a great room for some nasty stuff....but as I reminded Mrs Rupert...I have two broken feet and a twisted knee. She should know better!

Miss you guys.....on to Albany tomorrow for the graduation. Then a little exploration.....maybe the coast...and then back home. Home = Good!!!

Best Regards to my friends, yep...you too Bert!
