Brewery Closures Should Be Prohibited

The last bottle of beer rolled off the old production line at the landmark Mangatainoka Tui Brewery site yesterday, bringing with it the end of an era.

This is a crime of the highest magnitude.


I demand the gendarmes take immediate action to correct this travesty.

Never seen so few on the roads before. Usually I see one ever 50 miles or so here in Texas, but this trip had the fewest I've ever seen....may be just coincidence or may be there is a change in how they patrol?

About a half dozen more and they would make a great lunch! Bacon wrapped dove breasts are a real delicacy.

A few years ago I called the local sheriff's dept and asked to have an officer drop by for a local problem with speeders. I was told it was a busy night and it would be about 2 1/2 hours...but if I had an emergency they could knock an hour off that delay.

A guy called the police one night and said he could hear someone breaking into his garage.
The dispatcher said it would be two hours before they could get somebody there.
"Two hours?"!!??!"
"Yes, two hours. we have no one available."
About 5 minutes later he called 911 again and said "Never mind. I just shot the burglar, so I don't need you anymore." and hung up.
Within 10 minutes every cop in the city was at his house. They caught the burglar.
The lieutenant said to the owner "You lied to us. You said you had shot him. We don't appreciate being lied to."
The guy said "I don't appreciate being lied to, either. I was told there was nobody available to respond."

Only two of those six were highway patrol...and both of those were before we got out of Texas.

A woman got pulled over for speeding by a Highway Patrol motorcycle officer. When he walked up to her window and opened his ticket book she said, "I bet you're going to sell me tickets to the Highway Patrol Ball."

He replied, "No, Ma'am, highway patrolmen don't have balls." There followed a moment of silence while she smiled and he realized what he had said. Without saying another word, he closed his book, got back on his motorcycle and left.
