X20?

When you have that spanking new K-1?

Ditch the farm pants and worn out boots, put that fancy suit and shoes back on, then mount a wide angle lens to the K-1 and make a real photograph.

You know, it is hard to imagine people go out in public like that.......heck, my farm pants, boots and farm hat are just plain boring in comparison. BTW- I can't find my farm pants....but I fear Mrs Rupert did.....

You got a warning for 142 in a double nickel zone? Wow!

Way back in the 80's I was heading up to Anacortes to catch the ferry to Orcas Island on my bike. It was Thursday before the July 4th weekend, and I was going to meet a friend and we had planned to tent camp there for the holiday.

I was trying to catch the first ferry of the day, was a bit late and doing my best to make some time. I was laying on the tank, my chin over the bars, feet on the rear pegs, and had the throttle wide open. Going across the flats just South of Mount Vernon on I5 I noticed a county sheriff on the frontage road, and he clearly noticed me.

By the time he got turned around and on the interstate I was just entering Mount Vernon and had slowed down to 60 or so.

The sheriff lit me up.

I promptly pulled over.

As he walked up I removed my helmet.

Sheriff: You were cooking' man! Just how fast were you going?

Me: Um, well, I was laying forward to keep the wind resistance down, and couldn't see the speedometer sir.

The Speedo reads to 160, and the bike had stopped accelerating miles before I saw the cop.

Sheriff: Let's see your license and registration, please.

He goes back to his car, then returns.

Sheriff: So where are you headed in such a hurry?

Me: The ferry in Anacortes, gonna meet up with a buddy for the holiday sir.

Sheriff: Well slow it down, the holiday traffic will be building up soon, and drivers don't look for bikes. Oh, and lots of motorcyclists are gonna die in accidents this weekend, don't be one of them, OK?

Me: Yes sir officer.

He handed me my license and registration (not even a written warning), and off I went. Got to the ferry landing just in time to catch the first one of the day, met my friend, and we had a great time on the island enjoying the Independence Day weekend.

At legally posted speeds.

I don't have many lenses for the K1....I hope to change that soon, but nothing wide right now. I could get down the street and get a Bigma shot with the back hatch open......

I wish I had back the 43LTD, Zenitar, and a few others I sold a couple of years ago due to non use.......

We find out just how much a given lens is needed when we no longer have it.

..off to see them in person? Bring a lawn chair and popcorn...get a main aisle seat...it's a circus! Not much on my trip to Wallyworld today. A man (I'm guessing?) with a pair of white thong underwear and dark pantyhose on over them. I moved along too fast to see his front side. He had on a western hat and cowboy boots.

Last year they raised the speed limit on the Interstate from 75 to 80. This was done, I'm sure, to raise revenue as along with this tha gasoline tax was raised. Higher taxes + more consumption due to faster speed = more money.
In protest I now drive 72ish instead of 75. The interesting thing is that, at 72 in an 80 zone, I pass nearly as many others as pass me.
Probably means 75 is the natural speed limit where most people feel comfortable.

A bacon and Velveeta sammich can ease the distress, but it only lasts while you are eating them...so make several.

I just got a new phone (my trusty Galaxy S2 became just too slow) and went into 'Install all the apps!' mode. One that I installed is called Infinit, allows you to send files between your computer and phone. The first time I fired it up little animations demonstrated how it works, here's a screenshot of it:

I do not have an iPad, I do not know a Peter Bombarde and I don't use that picture anywhere but on Pentaxforums, so it appears this really is just a random example and not tailored for myself
