Yesterday I opened three cans, added some half& half for thinning the base, about two dozen medium sized cooked cocktail shrimp, garlic and onion flakes.....fresh pepper and a few other spices, including red pepper.... along with some real butter and simmered for 30 minutes.
It was not as thick as I desired, so I dropped in 4 slices of Velveeta and blended them in. That did the trick and it was the best shrimp soup ever!
Who knew that Rupert, besides being a squirrel whisperer, is also a gourmet chef ?!?

We Velveeta lovers are peace loving people, we would never kill you over your cheese choice. We like peace.....a BIG piece of delicious Velveeta!

Rotel/Velveeta dip....America's favorite by a landslide! Ever tried it Racer?

I do all the grocery shopping...love Aldis!...and do all the cooking. I'm pretty damn good at it too. My homemade base shrimp soup is better than Campbells but a little too spicy for Mrs Rupert. My best soup is spinach soup...and I guarantee you have never had anything like it. About 1500 calories a tablespoon and heaven on earth delicious. Even my grandson that hates spinach can't get enough of it!

I like to cook, and do a wide variety of meals. Sometimes I take shortcuts to a good meal but still keep it tasty and nutritious. I let the Butcherman do most of my beef in his smoker machine. Saves me time and is wonderful stuff! Mrs Rupert has reflux so I can't use as many spices as I would love to.

Patriotic things......close to our hearts.

Old Glory
National Anthem
Mom
Apple pie
Cold beer
Auto racing
Baseball
Football
Velveeta.......not necessarily in last place!

Probably had something like that when I still lived under my dad's roof. The rule was I ate whatever was placed on the table or I went hungry.

Now yet talkin' Jim.

And the timing is perfect.

The Cup race is just getting underway down in Kentucky. Saturday night, under the lights. Last week's winner Brad Keselowski is on the pole.

Will he win again tonight and make it 4 wins so far this season?

Stay tuned folks!

And Brad Keselowski wins at Kentucky.

Kevin Herrick nearly dominated the race, jumping into the lead at the start, but wound up finishing 9th.

Keselowski stayed near the front of the field, regained the lead when it counted, but played a dangerous game with fuel mileage. He ran so low on fuel that the engine cut out on the final lap, nearly handing the race to Carl Edwards. Somehow he managed to wiggle the car just enough that the fuel pump picked up the last bit of gas and the car stayed just ahead.

Brad did the victory lap on the push bumper of a tow truck, which also pushed his car to victory lane.

Congratulations to Brad and his team!

Wins what? Is he a hockey player or basketball player or something?

Race car driver.

A real sport, racing requires two balls.

Well, except for Danica Patrick.

Look me in the eye and tell us all that you have no Velveeta in your home, have never had Velveeta in your home, and will never have Velveeta in your home.
Well...go ahead, make my day!
None at my place, and I have only seen it is a shop, the one with blue decor and looking very primitive in US, once.

I'm shocked. Deeply and truly shocked. You're not using Velveeta's industrial cousin I Can't Believe It's Not Butter!®?!

Tidbit in today's paper.
On this day in 1904 St Louis police become among the first to use cars to pursue "scorchers" or people who drive faster than 25 mph.

PS, in other local news
Today is the 18th Annual Brooks World's Largest Catsup Bottle Festival Birthday Party & Car Show

So what's the difference?
What's the Difference Between Ketchup and Catsup? | Mental Floss

What is your preference?....... and if it is political please explain how we could manage to get politics into this wonderful sauce?

One of the great things about Mc Donalds...those little Ketchup/Catsup pumps that let you pump out all the wonderful magic sauce you want into as many of those little tiny cups as you can fill. They are so popular that Wendys and Burger King have been forced to add them in most of their stores too.

Several years ago we had a peaceful demonstration here that lasted almost two weeks in front of Burger King...which is next door to McDonalds. A dozen or more people took turns carrying signs that said "No Ketchup pump-Just say no to Burger King"...other signs said "McDonalds has the pump...Go there!"

The pump arrived before the demonstration was two weeks old!

It's as basic as Velveeta!

Regards!
