Yep.
We expect tornadoes around here, but those on the coast probably weren't expecting them.

So far Puget Sound area has just gotten a lot of rain, relatively little wind damage. Coastal areas got a lot more wind, especially along Oregon's beaches. The one tornado that touched down in a small beach town. That was storm no 1, no 2 is coming along today.

Like Jim said, minor blow, lots of rain. The river I live on is at or near flood stage, but no worries here, the bank is about 70 feet high.

Noah would feel safe here.

What happened? Did not get on the news when the had an FA cup qualification game between North Leigh and East Leigh, which are actually quite far apart. North Leigh is just a couple of miles form here. And there was also Oxford United pummelling some other team in the second division 1-nil. The other guys were not even good enough to score at all. Apparently the umpire was Oxford's best player, or something like that. I was driving through Bampton when that finished. And it was raining a little bit. Needed the wipers going.

I did not read the rest of the thread before responding. Sounds unpleasant.

Some news from Australia: Tarcutta: the truckies' sacred village - RN - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) .

Tarcutta is pretty much exactly half way from Melbourne to Sydney on the Hume highway. I was in the last 50 miles of two lane road on that highway when the rest had been made four lane divided highway, so lots of head-ons by people who forgot they were on a two way road. Dualling that road took about 40 years - and was done in chunks with two lane chunks between them. one of the most dangerous roads in the country and thousands of trucks per day.

I got a kick out of this craigslist ad for a local garage sale tomorrow.
Pretty sure some of us can relate to the last item listed.

Tools, clothes, kitchen appliances, furniture, books, coats and the neighbor's dog.
I once overheard my son muttering, "I wonder if you can sell your sister on eBay."

They might have rules about that kind of thing.

Nah. Went for a bike ride very early this morning. Then, I drove lead car for this race: Race Two. So, you have lead motorcycles stopping traffic at intersections and then the lead car, just ahead of the peleton. Then you have the Commissaire, directly behind the peleton and sometimes his car will move up into the peleton, with some roving motorcycles, then the team cars and behind it all the ambulance.

It was not an uneventful day - we did have a crash and also one poor guy had a heart attack. Luckily for him, two other cyclists were doctors and the Rescue chopper was there pretty quickly. The ambulance staff had to jump start him twice!
