For your penance say three Hail Bacons!

Worth less or worthless?

Driving home tonight BBC6 Ox had conversation about some big showdown coming up, tonight at 2am, in some place called Loss Vague Us. They seemed to be trying to get more fun out of it.

Oh, and I found more of those funny speed limit signs I told you all about at both ends of Farmoor on the road from Oxford to the Swinford Bridge - the one with the 5p (6 UScent) toll - really slows down the traffic and costs far more than 5p in extra petrol for the stop/start driving. And the 30 sign at the Swinford Bridge is almost completely obscured by bushes (note lower case 'b', naming things that grow in the ground).

I'm on "vacation".
This means I'm either driving or walking. Mrs. Parallax has a policy: If you're awake, and not driving, you better be walking. If you're feet aren't moving it better be because you're dead. If there's a trail it must be walked.
Today was a bit of a deviation, however. We went to one of our favorite restaurants for breakfast. After we finished we went to an outlet mall and spent the ENTIRE DAY (which, BTW, is our 31st anniversary) going from one shoe store to another looking for a pair of shoes for Mrs. P.
Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration. It wasn't, technically, the whole day as the day doesn't end until Midnight. We stopped shoe shopping at about 5:30.

If it is only "a" pair that guarantees that no matter how good the ones seen in the early shops of the expedition they will not be the ones bought because then the expedition would be over. Alternatively you might have got the wrong word and Mrs P did not mean "a" but rather "some", which could be satisfied by "a pair" (a blokes usual interpretation), but if a pair is found early will result in the expedition continuing with the possibility of further outwards financial transactions.

Then aim better. If you succeed in hunting you may have one, or some.

Happy Anniversary to you both, Jim

Shopping for shoes with my ex-wife is what finally convinced me that God can't possibly exist...
