In downtown Rochester, NY is a place called Nick Tahou's. Home of the garbage plate special. It was invented by college students who would come in to eat in the middle of the night after studying and ask for some of everything. A legend was born. You can still get them too. Been going strong for ever 50 years now. No idea how many MC's (megacalories) are in one. But man are they good. Sadly my system does not doesn't handle them like it used to. Been a few decades since I have had one. If you don't like hot dogs, have a burger or Italian sausage instead.

Merry Christmas everyone! May your stockings be filled with pretzels and beer.
Unfortunately, I can't post my favourite Christmas poem here, or I'll have to ban myself.

Doesn't that make the pretzels all soggy and the beer leak out of the holes?

As is customary, this time of the year, (if you're German or South African) I bring you Dinner for One. Feel free to skip the German Intro. The actual sketch (In English) starts at the 2 minute, 25 second mark.

This has cult like status in Germany, but is virtually unknown in England, although that's where it originates from. If you want to know more about Dinner for One, see the Wikipedia article - but - spoiler alert - watch the video first! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dinner_for_One

Just finished dinner with all the kids, home from far and wide. This year they asked for a Slinger Feast ( @robtcorl will know about Slingers from O.T.Hodge Chili Parlor).
  • 2 Eggs, over easy
  • Skillet-fried potato slices
  • 2 1/4 pound cheddar cheeseburgers w/ onion slices
  • Served on a platter covered with no-beans beef chili
  • 4 slices buttered toast on the side
  • Copious Fitz's Root Beer
Merry Christmas all - we just started "White Christmas"

Mark you should put up a health warning before you post things like that! I was almost convulsing I was laughing so hard, tears were streaming down my cheeks and at one point I was fighting for breath! I haven't laughed that hard in many a year! THANK YOU!!!!!!

As the scene progressed I realized that I had seen it before but many, many, years ago and I had completely forgotten about it. What a classic piece of acting, totally over the top but believable in every way.

My feet aren't that big.

Santa better set the keg on the hearth.
