No, both Glasgow and Tristan da Cunha are on the list of places I'm not likely to visit. The latter being a slightly more likely future destination.

Beef brisket getting a low and slow smoke cook right now, a slab of cured bacon ready to be smoked in a few hours.
Made it until 10:30 last night before hitting the hay.
I hear Bloody Mary calling my name.........

Nice, Bob... very nice

I was good last night... didn't partake of drinks (at least nothing alcoholic) or snacks, and was also in bed around 10:30pm (though I didn't nod off until gone midnight - half-watching the fireworks from my bedroom window). Today, my family and I shared a simple but tasty New Year's Day lunch... a big, golden, roast chicken, buttery mash, peas, carrots, yorkshire puddings, stuffing and lots of thick gravy - all washed down with a nice bottle of champagne, the remainder of which I'm still sipping now

Yeah, Tristan da Cunha is less likely to erupt, that's for sure

Now we're talkin' Mike!

My wife asked me if I heard the fireworks at midnight, I said not at all.
I'm totally deaf in my right ear and sleep on my left side

Glasgow wouldn't be bad, so long as a person visits on the one day a year the sun comes out and the Protestants and Catholics aren't having a row.

Planning lots of outdoor activities. One of the local weathermen promised that we would have the best weather of the year today.

Pssh!

Here was my first meal of the year.
A proper fry up; eggs, bacon, mushrooms, fried bread and baked beans!
Delicious!

With all those beans, you won't need bagpipes to produce that characteristic drone

Looks delicious, especially the bacon and mushrooms.

But I'm back to the low, low, low fat diet again.

Gotta watch my figure you know.
