Yep. The last 7 weeks sitting around not doing much has been driving me crazy. I miss the daily routine of getting ready for work, the drive (well, sometimes, 'cause I really like driving), the daily work process with the activities and interactions with coworkers, returning home each day (the drive home is always the better than the drive out) as the freeway turns to state highway, the state highway turns to county two lane, the two lane gives way to the last mile and a half of gravel, and the 850 feet of driveway as my headlights light up the house (a form or decompression and relaxation with each change of roadway).

I need to stay busy.

How about some peameal?

Thanks.
It's going to be a long few months.
Well, you won't miss the three good days a year of weather you get up there....they are many months away. You can thank me for not mentioning here that you told me on the phone that three months down time won't bother you....you weren't doing anything anyhow!

BTW- Otis sends his best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery. He was quite upset to learn of your accident....and said......."He is such a nice guy, it should have been you Rupert!"

Someday I'm going to let Mrs Rupert do what she wants to do with that damn squirrel!

Best Regards!

Mrs. P and I were crossing the street, in the crosswalk, with a walk light, in Rapid City Monday and a pickup hit me. Comminuted/compression fracture of the right tibial plateau (kmee) and about 3 inches of the tibia.
4 hours of sugery and I'll likely need a knee replacement within a year. It couldn't be done now because there isn't enough bone until everything heals.
As you can imagine, I'm a little sore and more than just a little mad.
Holy Shiatsu dude! Glad it wasn't worse....

It is nice, one of the better ones I've seen on a Volvo. It fits the lines and styling of the truck well.

I'm partial to this one though.

Speaking of which.

I stopped by Monstro's keepers the other day to catch up with friends made when I was driving there. Turns out the company was hired to move the Western Star truck that was in the latest Transformers movie. They carried it on a tour of the US to promote the movie.

This truck:

I hope you heal quickly Mr P. and I'm glad you are fixable.

We had one here this week - 52yo lady crossing with the green light and a 26yo truckie turned from the side street and hit her. DOA! Very sad.

I have to wonder if cell phone distraction is the cause of so many hit pedestrians in our area lately.
It seems there's one every day or so, and many times they are hit and runs.

Yep. The last 7 weeks sitting around not doing much has been driving me crazy.
Been there and know the feeling all too well. I looked forward to any opportunity to get out of the house, though they were very rare since one foot was not supposed to touch the ground at any time.
What saved me from going (more insane) was being able to communicate here on the forum and my heavenly little office where I could sit all day and shoot wildlife out the windows...process what I shot...and dream of the day I could get out there in the wild and run free again. I looked forward to Mrs Rupert coming home from work each day, and the many other "little things" we normally take for granted.

One step at a time....I even got excited about cast changing and new X-rays. Getting the removable cast was a big step forward and taking my first steps was a thrill. You look ahead, you make plans, you stay positive...you survive!

We will nurse you guys until you heal, just stick around...it worked wonderfully for me!

Best Regards!

BTW- My pork chops in the Crok Pot turned out to be most excellent! The simplest recipe I think I have ever used and they couldn't have been better. Mrs Rupert, the world's pickiest eater went for a second helping.....a rare thing!

I think it owed its great taste to that one possum chop from the Butcher Man.....he knows his meats!

The only thing I did different was to use brown rice....for health purposes!

Lunch today was a favorite....Aldi cottage cheese (Large size $1.99) and Aldi Corn Chips (.99 cents Big Bag)

This is so delicious! Cottage cheese is slow to digest so it keeps you full all day without snacking before dinner. The chips add great flavor and the meal is full of protein....Perfect!

Off to the Barber Lady for my beard, Aldis for whatever I see I want, and the Butcher Man to thank him for those fine chops.....and that flavorful possum chop! Maybe time to deliver a little chocolate to a few Chocolate Girlfriends too.....

The sun is out, the sky is blue, not a tiny rustle of wind and it is 70F! You go Otis! You are doing a mighty fine ob this winter!

Regards!
