I can only echo what others have said, hang in there Jim, wishing the best for you with your recovery.
Best wishes to your wife too, this will not be easy for her either.

I was telling my wife the other day how odd it is to be a part of a group of friends here where most of us have never met in person, and in many cases have no clue what each other even looks like.
Different walks of life, ages, education levels, customs and countries, and yet a bond formed where we feel each other's joy, sorrow and pain.
One of the good things about the InterWebz! Hang in there Jim, it does get better, just not as fast as you want...

Had a weird dream last night...

I was at a local pond with lots of birds (ducks, swans, geese, warblers, eagles, even a couple owls) and many insects of all sorts and sizes, which already is pretty sweet, but not only that. I had, in my hands, a K-3ii (is that acceptable here?) with an FA* 600/4 and FA* 200/4 Macro with the 1.4 TC. The images I took (in my dream) were better than many I have seen and (it gets a bit fuzzy here) I end up selling many photos and actually making a profit covering all the gear costs... Ricoh offered me an ambassadorship and the privilege of testing new gear. I remember at this point I had new wildlife lenses and macro lenses (along the lines of DFA* 600/4 and DFA* 200/4 Macro, etc... ) and a new camera the K-2 which improved on the K-3ii as my dream camera (literally...).

Not sure what this dream means but... one can always hope

As an amateur Freudian Psychotherapist I'm happy to help you out with this.

The local pond symbolizes a hen house. The lenses symbolize an automatic silo system that automatically feeds your chickens, and cleans out their living area. You would have had to do it yourself had they been MF lenses.) You will actually start selling eggs, and end up exporting your feed and clean system to many other egg producers. You will be elected head of the Egg Farmers Association.

This one was a freebee, the next dream will cost you money. No need to say thanks.

I don't buy that label any more.

Tom and Dan sold it to a syndicate owned by a couple guys who went to St. Louis Country Day School in the 70's, made a fortune as Wall Street lawyers (literally), moved 'home' and bought houses in St. Louis Country Club grounds.

Didn't like them much then and I don't like them much now.

Don't fret Bert, I'll finish up what Norm started.
He forgot to add that you will become rich from the by-product and have the money to buy a K-2 and a DFA* 600/4

Now I feel like maybe I should reduce my rates. Why didn't I see that?

I'm not as good as I thought I was.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, Jim. I've been lucky in my 68+ years with no significant illnesses or injuries, so i can't offer any sage words of wisdom.,
other than try to keep your mind active with good thoughts. Best wishes to you and Mrs. P.

What's this - camera talk?

But yeah, the wife has one of those things. Not great at everything, but you can read the number plate of Voyager 1 with it. Well, in good light, you can.
