Our grocery store occasionally, when in season, has sockeye salmon at the seafood counter. Fish does not get much better tasting than that...

Toronto is on Lake Ontario. There is Atlantic salmon in the Great Lakes. Don't the local shops carry any?

I like octopus. At the sushi bar, it is always good[/COLOR]

That's right. Saltwater fish have enough salt in them that one does not need to add any for seasoning.

I like the oily fish too. Mmmmm . . . . . . . Spanish mackrel!

Yum!

Bc salmon is light years better and gets flown in, usually in shops Thursday for the weekend sales so Thursday is salmon day if you have a good fishmonger , salmon form Lake Ontario is only recommended for occasional eating (4 times a month if it's salmon. There is a whole huge chart covering all the fish from the many small lakes and Great Lakes and regular contaminant testing is done so you can calculate consumption allowed . Best fresh fish in ontario for my money if pickerel (walleye) I also like rainbow and speckled trout
Spanish mackerel is amazing (particularly in Spain ) and I love cod too bad our fishery collapsed due to overfishing ,

Minnesota Oysters.
perhaps, but until recently I suspect you would never have found spice beyond salt and pepper in Minnesota Oysters
and that would have been avant garde north of the cities

though I had salted roe in an eatery in st. paul that was not bad
not caviar, but not bad
salty little gelatinous balls of fishiness

That's right.

Reminds me of a South Park episode where Chef does a bit about his culinary creation, "Chef's chocolate salty _____".

And I should probably stop right there.

In all fairness, there is a few hours difference. He may have been drooling on his pillow with visions of repeating numbers in his head.

No ......they stay in the deepest water up by the dam, but they are easier to catch at night because you can see them glowing green 125 feet down.

One of my favorite songs off the South Park Chef Aid album! I won't post the link directly but the clip is on YouTube. And totally worth it!

I miss Chef. He added just the right touch to the show.
