Update on the pies Mrs Bob brought home from her 25th year company party last Friday.
I've had pie 5 days in a row now, shooting for 7.
The 4 choices are:
Caramel apple
Apple crumb
Coconut cream
Lemon cream
Chocolate cream.

edit, 5 choices

Say, that has a nice ring to it.

By the way, these guys are down your way. They have mowed the same strip of grass so many times it looks like asphalt.

At least there is diversity in your diet.

Diet diversity is crucial.

My next door neighbor Ricky....had a Cushman Eagle and was not satisfied with just riding and enjoying it. His Dad bought it for him so he wouldn't be left out of all his friends that had scooters. Nice machine for the day, white with chrome wheels and trim. Had it two weeks and came over to borrow my Dads tools to "work on it". A few hours later he came back to get me to come look at it....it was allover his carport in a gazillion pieces. Even had the engine out and the head off. Said he wanted to be able to work on it when needed and was learning how it all fit together. Had to put it in boxes for the dealer to reassemble at pretty good expense...got grounded for three weeks.

Next he wanted to borrow some small drill bits, about 1/16th. Drilled holes in the piston to reduce compression and make it easier to crank. Yep it was easier.....back to the shop and another grounding. A month or so later he came over to borrow some duct tape, wanted the "good stuff". Next thing I heard was his engine running next door, wide open. He had removed the chain drive and taped the throttle wide open to see how long it would run at high rpm. Not too long Ricky! His dad loaded it up and carried it to the junkyard and made Ricky unload it. He was always coming over wanting to borrow my scooter to "go to the store" or something. Hey Ricky, you've got to be kidding!

I liked Ricky, we fought a lot....I broke his nose three times. I was in the Golden GLoves...Ricky read a lot of boxing magazines....there was a difference! Ricky finally graduated High School...at age 21. It was a real experience living next door to him.

Regards!
So, whatever became of Ricky? I wonder if he's still "improving" things?

I would think it likely that he's no longer with us.
If that's the case, I'd bet money that his last words were "Hold my beer, and watch this".

Several years ago my oldest sister was in the old neighborhood and ran across him. He had a younger sister the same age as my sister. He had just retired from the Fire Dept where he had spent many years. She got his number for me but I never called him....I still have it, maybe I should, but I am always hesitant about digging up old burial grounds, if you know what I mean.

Reminds me, when I was a kid my Great Granny knew the location of an Indian burial ground near the Paluxy River and pointed it out to me. Got my buddies together and started digging for ancient artifacts to get rich. With the hard ground we were not sure we were in the exact location, so I went back and asked her for more information. She gave it, including that they all died from smallpox. The dig was over!

Regards!

Maybe it works out better when the rednecks simply hang onto their beer.

Funny how near the end you hear the women saying it is time to end this friendly competition. Always yappin' at us, tellin' us what to do.
