I run Valvoline High Mileage 5w30 full synthetic in mine which is why I think it does so well with the miles that are on it. I used to use the normal stuff, but switched to the high mileage stuff at 200k.

Listen, it can take weeks to get up enough energy to get "frisky" and even then it is more a chore than a pleasure. I got nothing to prove...did that and overdid that decades ago. Give me a bacon and egg sandwich and I can know what real pleasure is and if I am careful there is little or no clean-up when I'm done!

There are many good synthetics nowadays.....whatever one you like is better than conventional oil.
In my old '55 Chevy I used to use recycled oil....15 cents a quart. Came in glass jars at the Deeprock station with a spout on them ready to pour. It ran and/or burned out almost as fast as I put it in. Picked up a date once and her dad came out and told me not to come in the neighborhood again in "that oil burning piece of junk". I was "frisky" back then so it didn't matter...after the night was over I was done with her anyhow!

Regards!

Considering switching to full synthetic on the Expedition and the Grand Cherokee. Daughters V-Dub and my gen-set already are on synth.
The down-side is that any K3 funding will come to a complete halt...

As far as the image goes, the Bacon is wearing hearing protection and the K9 is highly disturbed by the noise!

Strap on your kilt and grab your claymore!

I'll stand safely in the back encouraging you while you head into battle.
