With mother rapers and father stabbers.

And father rapers and mother stabbers.

And all kind of mean, nasty and ugly things.

There on the Group W bench.

And then when the shrink interviewed me I would have been jumping up and down.

Yelling "Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill!"

Then I'd be back at the church with the rest of the gang for Thanksgiving.

And placing a letter under a pile of garbage.

Yes... and the requirement of passing Grade 10!

I'll be honest - I havn't seen that movie.
Full Metal Jacket is a must see, one of many Kubrick classics.

Gunny says you better watch it.

One day I'll get round to it... been watching older movies recently like the Carry On collection.
As for military movies - I saw Fury last year and was hoping to see Hacksaw Ridge sometime soon.
Don't think I've seen any Kubrick films

Clockwork Orange. A bit deep but a great movie.

Dr. Strangelove. Slim Pickens riding the bomb is awesome.

Paths of Glory with Kirk Douglas is another great.

And 2001, A Space Odyssey. Has to be on your list.

Stanley Kubrick was also a fellow photographer.

My favourite part is still the "What were you arrested for kid?" part.

His arrest record comes up twice, doesn't it?

First in the Group W bench, and then later when the shrink interviews him, right?

No, only once. The shrink interview is first. "I wanna kill!" Etc. And ending with "You're our boy."

Then, the Sergeant asks if he's ever been arrested, which leads to the telling of the story and the sending to the Group W bench. And I quote:

And I, I walked over to the, to the bench there, and there is, Group W's where they put you if you may not be moral enough to join the Army after committing your special crime, and there was all kinds of mean, nasty, ugly-looking people on the bench there. Mother rapers. Father stabbers. Father rapers! Father rapers sitting right there on the bench next to me! And they was mean and nasty and ugly and horrible crime-fightin' guys sitting on the bench next to me. And the meanest, ugliest, nastiest one, the meanest father raper of them all, was coming over to me and he was mean 'n' ugly 'n' nasty 'n' horrible and all kind of things, and he sat down next to me and said, "Kid, whad'ya get?" I said, "I didn't get nothing, I had to pay $50 and pick up the garbage." He said, "What were you arrested for, kid?" And I said, "Littering." And they all moved away from me on the bench there, and the hairy eyeball and all kinds of mean nasty things, till I said, "...and creating a nuisance." And they all came back, shook my hand, and we had a great time on the bench, talkin' about crime, mother stabbing, father raping, all kinds of groovy things that we was talking about on the bench.

I have it on good authority that Otis is a crossdresser.
(hopefully this will draw him, or his buddy, out of the woods for a rebuttal)

I'm at 188 today.

I stopped growing at 6', but as I have aged the soft tissue in my spine has compressed. I have lost nearly 2" of height, and now stand at just over 5'10".

But my doctor says I need to be closer to 160.

I'll see how I look and feel at 175, eh?

13lbs to go.
Well when i was in my best shape of my life (skiing for a living at 19-20) i was 165 and virtually no body fat, not much chance 37 years later to ever be ale to say virtually no body fat lol i'll settle for a lot less of it
the charts say 132 to 173 lbs. for our height so maybe i need to shoot for 165 again
tbh at 57 if i get to 170-175 i'll likely fall in the top 10 percent for my age

Based on the Robinson formula (1983), your ideal weight is 156.5 lbs
Based on the Miller formula (1983), your ideal weight is 155.0 lbs
Based on the Devine formula (1974), your ideal weight is 160.9 lbs
Based on the Hamwi formula (1964), your ideal weight is 165.3 lbs
Based on the healthy BMI recommendation, your recommended weight is 128.9 lbs - 174.2 lbs

I'm 5'10" as well, and stable in approx 195-200 range for the last couple of years. If I go below 190 I start having issues with blood glucose, I start getting orthostatic a lot (lightheaded when standing up, due to low BP), and other minor issues. So don't get too fixed on the "ideal" or "Correct" weight for your goal. As you lose, keep assessing how you feel where you're at, and then *you* decide what weight you're happy with.

(advice is endorsed by my dear spousal unit, the Family Practice physician who has told me I'm not allowed to lose more weight...)

I've been down to 175 a few years back, felt so much better it did work for me, would like to be lower but was happy at 175. also it depends on where the weight is, i cycle a lot more now so i have more muscle mass so weight isn't the only measurement
always good to just find a healthy spot you are good with
