Downspout section $9, two elbows $6, watching maple whirlybirds blown from the gutter without getting on the roof?......Priceless!!!
I've had enough sense to Not get on roofs for several years now.

It is about 2 years since I climbed on a roof. It is nearly two years since I owned a roof to climb on. When the roof belongs to the landlord I may as well let the landlord take responsibility for arranging for any tasks that require anything that looks like climbing on the roof.

I know one member here (I don't want to embarrass him, so I won't mention Rupert by name) who learned that the hard way.

same problem...different solutions

a) send fearless spouse and her rubber gloves up a ladder...everything is afraid of her in a cleaning frenzy
b) power washer with a sixteen foot extension and a homemade u-shaped wand

either way it gets done

since we have such piddly little snows, your electric blower/sucker does a fine job on the steps and walk

I know the guy you're talking about, but it's ok, he's out chasing horny toads, or something like that.

And when you do get on the roof, remember to not do what I did and set your ladder too vertical in order to avoid the vegetable garden. Ladder and I went backwards. I can confirm that broccoli has one saving grace - It softens landings - and is completely inedible flattened. So a win all round really!

Mating season.
dunno when that is for New Yawk Skwerlz - this was in October a couple years ago. Of course, it was at Niagara Falls, so maybe they *were* honeymooning!

If the women don't find you handsome they should at least find you handy.

I've posted this before and I'll post it again.
You only need two tools in life:
If it moves and it shouldn't; use duct tape.
If it doesn't move and it should; use WD-40.

And remember.

If it isn't broken.

It can probably still be fixed.

As one who can disassemble and reassemble a vacuum cleaner or clock and wind up with a bag of spare parts, I don't feel qualified to join in with this discussion...

Mike, there is your problem; you see the bits as spare parts.
