Your post suggests you do not know the accent of over here.

You seem to think "butty" is pronounced like "but"
You say butty your way, and I'll say butty my way, I like my way way better

Unless we're talking booty, that's a whole 'nother matter.

Butty does not rhyme with booty, not bootie (soft footwear for babies). Although some English accents will do that, that similarity would not communicate to Americans.

Slight clarification, here...

As with many words, the pronunciation largely depends on one's regional accent and strength of it. Those from the South of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland would pronounce "butty" with a short "uh", as in "shut" or "cut". Here in the North East and Northern England generally, those with stronger accents pronounce it with a short "oo", as in "foot". The pronunciation of the "tt" part differs regionally, too - it is glottalized here in the North East, but not - for example - in Yorkshire.

So... I'm glad we've dealt with this important matter...

Edit: Actually, the "y" is also affected by pronunciation... "ee", "ih" or "eh" depending on the accent. In fact, now I come to think of it, only the "b" is consistent across all UK accents
