A seller on eBay had an Igloo cooler like I wanted to buy, 10 of them available, for $100 each and free shipping.
These sell on the Igloo site for $180 less shipping, Sams club sells it with a plastic handle, not metal like these have, for $100.
So it seemed like a good deal, even though the seller only has 1 feedback, it's a positive from something they sold recently.
The seller is listed as being in IL, the cooler came directly from Igloo in TX, and the invoice shows it was billed to a person in NJ in the amount of $193, $180 and $13 shipping.
I'm thinking they used a stolen credit card, all 10 sold within a few days.

They were listed as new, and mine is of course.
Some sellers buy truck loads of returns, etc so I figured this was that type of deal.
I have contacted the seller for an explanation, no reply yet and probably never.
I'll give them a couple of days before trying to report my concerns to eBay.
As much as I like the cooler, I don't want it if it was purchased with a stolen credit card or other illegal means.
Opinions and suggestions welcome.

Just the usual suggestion Bob......Never buy anything from a seller named Otis Squirrel, O.T. Squirrel, or anything similar.

Does sound like a stolen credit card type deal. Report it if you don't get a good answer...and soon. E-bay is very "iffy" for me. I don't buy much there.

You might also contact Igloo and give them the information. Fraud costs all of us...well, except for Otis . Damn hard to prosecute a squirrel.

Regards!

I get the concern over the legitimacy of the origin of the item you bought Bob.

But they only charged you only $100, correct?

Correct, but someone in NJ paid $193 total for me to get it, and the seller is supposedly from IL.
I wondered about the billed person in NJ, her name is very unusual and not hard to find via Google.
Seems she's a registered nurse and was charged with shoplifting from Saks in 2010 when she was 49.
Crazy stuff I tell ya!

Otis might have a lot of 'splainin' to do.
Igloos are made in Texas.

For the curious, here's the cooler:
SPORTSMAN 20 Quart Fishing Day Trip Cooler | IGLOO®

I stuck a gallon zip bag 1/3 filled with cubes in it last night, 20 hours later and it's about half ice and half water.

Did they move Texas?

I thought igloos were made by my Inuit brothers the Eskimo.

Somewhere near the North Pole.

Eh?

I agree with you - something might well be rotten in the state of Illinois. I have no idea how to handle such a thing, but your moral compass is obviously well adjusted. Do what you need to sleep well at night.

Used to keep a couple cards for the big 3 gasoline companies back before they took any card at the pump (and before there were only 2 gas companies).

I live in Washington state. 99% of my fuel purchases are within 300 miles of home.

Suddenly I had charges in Florida, not only for fuel but lots of beer and salty snacks.

Oh, and on exactly the same day as I bought fuel at my local gas station.

They didn't hold me for the charges in Florida, and promptly cancelled the card.
