Yeah, they don't make it easy to be a good community member. I suppose they want people to really think before they actually call up complain.

I discovered eBay back in the Dark Ages of the Innerwebs, searching for license plates. Back then it was a more Craig's List kind of atmosphere, with few commercial sellers. Mostly people like us, just everyday kinda folk looking to pass something along that they no longer want, and try to make a buck or two.

So I had set up a PayPal account, and was buying plates left and right, and discovered automobilia and signs, and such, so my eBay experience expanded a bit.

One day I was paying bills and noticed a huge charge against the credit card I used for the PayPal account. Something like the max, nearly but not quite, around $10,000. Then, 24 hours later the charge was reversed. I contacted PayPal who referred me to the bank that the card was issued through. By the time it was done I had an e-mail relationship with an FBI investigator.

Seems there was some bunch up in Toronto that had figured out how to snag credit card numbers as they whiz around the Innerwebs at the speed of light. Then they would make draws against the cards for large amounts, and make wagers via online gambling sites. When they won they would return the stolen funds, and most people either never noticed, or notice bit don't say anything.

When they didn't win the funds were not returned, and that is what caught the attention of international law enforcement agencies.

Of course my card was immediately cancelled, and a new one issued.

We are a devious bunch up here in Toronto, if you saw what housing cost you'd all send credit card info for me to scam (my new place I get on the 15th is 750. Sq ft and I got a deal for 6 months at 1800 then it reverts to 2200 ....in fact a lot of 500 sq ft places cost this much

This seems a bit disrespectful of our friends to the North. I think we should refer to them, rather than by abbreviated slang, by the full and rightful name.

Canuckians.

As I understand it the donald called us Snow Mexicans, and I'm proud to be one lol

My wife is a HGTV junkie and when the shows are set in Canada or California, and some other locales; I'm amazed at home prices.
We paid $80,000 for our modest ranch style,1600 sq ft. house 25 years ago, current value about double that.

Any fully detached in Toronto is at least a million even bungalows in need of renos in crap hoods in the suburbs. A friend just sold his 1100 sq ft 1 bath 2br cottage style house downtown for 1.425 million. He bought an enormous place on a lake and has a ton left over for retirement

Here's what $1,465,000 can buy you here, and this is in a high dollar neighborhood.
5,700 sq ft on an acre of ground.

Pretty sure it is a Canadian thing. Wouldn't see them Down Under, eh?

Still, kinda like down there, where just about anything that crawls, slithers, hops, jumps, walks or swims can kill you, one of these Canadian Great Danes can too.

Odd looking home.

A round circle with a bar through it.

Must be something Buckminster Fuller designed.

Crud, I forgot that pics taken with my cell don't show up for others on forums, for whatever reason.
Here's one of the front porch taken with a mx-one.
edit, taken around the 4th of July, although we fly Old Glory year round.
