One winter, some years ago. I build my own snow-gun. Worked great for my latitude, wife did not like it much, covered her car in the frozen stuff. I remember her saying something along the lines like "what the hell is wrong with you"

edit: therefore, my driveway will have to freeze over before I will consider the K3.
Snow gun?? Is that patterned like the things they use to make snow on ski hills?? If so you should market it!! Wife doesn't appreciate creativity??

It ran on compressed air and "high pressure" water. You can buy kits on-line. It is great fun, if you don`t mind the electric bill from running the air-compressor.

Solar panels make electricity. For free.

You can even charge the batteries on your K3 with them.

The K-3 you won't buy because it doesn't come with a built in solar panel? What was Ricoh thinking?

You made me think. I wonder if one could pull the same stunt with a pressure washer using the widest nozzle?

Pentax roasting on an open fire,
Ricoh nipping on your nose,
Yuletide photos being shot by dad,
And Ricoh dressed up like Pentax.
Everybody knows, a Turkey and a photographer
Are often one and the same
Tiny Q's are just fine in many colors,
And using GR is not a chore
They know Andy's on his way,
His website loaded up with goodies and toys,
And every Pentaxian is apt to spy
Whether Ricoh really exists on the back
And so I'm offering this simple phrase
To kids from one to ninety-two
Although its been called many names, many ways:
A very good camera, it is for you.

Well, except for the cost of the solar panel. That aside, then you advocate replacing the top LCD with a tiny solar panel that 'always on'?

My daughter is in College Park.
Mine might be there next year but she's home now, getting psyched for some shoveling.

But they put their name on it. On the FRONT, no less. I'll bet that's why they aren't still being made. To quote the OP; "Shot themselves in the foot".
