"Mice meal": do you mean you ate enough the staff thought you were all on a diet, maybe one dish for all of you, and still half left as a generous donation to the bin. That adds cost tot he restaurant - they need to pay to send the rubbish away.

Or do you mean a new culinary choice not yet mentioned in this thread, I believe.
Fumble Fingers.

It would take too many mice to create a meal that would fill me up.

Nice meal.

Good food.

Good company.

Mrs Tim does not like the idea of clothes with badges of honour, not even denims which have faded a little.
I used to wear only Levi's 501 Button Fly jeans. When the knees wore out they became shorts for summer. The newer ones that weren't yet faded were the 'dress' trousers.

But somewhere along the way I got older and the jeans no longer fit. Couldn't find a size that worked anymore. They have a line that are for 'older' guys, with a 'skosh' more room in the hip and thigh. I tried them but no joy, and *sigh* no button fly.

So I searched around and found Carhartt ripstop cotton cargo pants. No button fly, but they are cut a bit more generously in the hip and fly, and have a gusset at the crotch that give a bit more room for the boys.

This is them:

And like the 501's, the old ones become summer shorts, the newer ones are for more formal occasions.

I do have a 3 piece suit.

Worn it less than a dozen times. Funerals and weddings, and not much else.

Curse of the working man.

Sure glad I didn't go, can you guess why?
I was curious...checked out that story to see why so many showed up for an ordinary bridge opening? Seems they got to shoot the guy with the bagpipe if he got out of the lines.

Yeah it's pretty cheap, I don't have easy access to refills at the moment, but for the parker we have lots and lots of refills.

And, as I said yesterday, they will not be allowed to call it Scotch, they will need to call it Japanese, which does not have quite the same ring to it. Too hard to say.
And where do they get the centuries old peat?

Steal it from Scotland?

I used to be very much into my whiskies. Some years ago I tried an award-winning Japanese single-malt in the style of Speyside, and it was phenomenally good. There's no way I could have told you it was anything other than the highest quality, genuine Scotch. Impressive stuff.

I rarely drink whisky these days. When I do, it's only ever "good" Scotch, and something I consider a real treat. Yummy

NOTE: my comments were only about what they can call it. My comments were at no time a discussion of what the quality is. I would expect the Japanese to do a good job with any food or beverage item because they are very particular about F&B.

Because it would have taken a long time to get across with all those people walking, apparently not briskly, and filling all the space available. That was so they could appreciate, enjoy and rejoice in the music provided to accompany their crossing.

Of course, Tim, and understood

I don't think they should be allowed to call it Scotch. Fine single-malt whisky, yes, but Scotch? Certainly not.

Interesting fact - at least, for the Japanese whisky I tried, the producers had shipped genuine Scottish peat to Japan to aid in the whisky-making process...

The claim is that the specific peat is a critically important feature. Hence the different flavours of the different distilleries, who probably also jealously guard their source of peat.
