Did you know that when they teach CPR, for the perfect rhythm of chest compressions they recommend doing it to the beat of either 'Staying Alive' or 'Another One Bites the Dust'? It is, however, not recommended humming along the second one as you do it

On wearing things out, a friend owned a little Datsun pickup for many years and umpteen miles.
He knew that when he went to trade it in the dealership would not want to even mess with it.
So when the salesman said "We can only give you $200 for your truck" my friend practically shouted "I'll take it!"

Not necessarily. I won't be selling this one anytime soon, even though it is 20 years old. I don't drive it a time without someone wanting to buy it. Keeping even little repairs made along the way avoids getting to the point they mount up and are un-affordable. Just went to Big Bend in it and drove over a thousand miles without a single problem. On or off the road, you can depend on it.

You sure got that right! The instructions on my dryer thermostats were trash, since they were a little different than the originals and required a "jumper wire" ...but were not clear on how or where to install it? That's where YouTube comes in and is a lifesaver! Once viewed it was all simple and fast. Saved a $125 service call and $50 repair bill on top of the call.

BTW
- I was the only plumber in the county that never charged a service call. I was also the only plumber that never hocked my tools in an economic downturn.....my phone never stopped ringing. I hate service call charges, always have. Apparently my customers did too!

Regards!

In the spirit of the Otis Appreciation Society....I think I helped a fellow Pentaxian that was suffering from a privacy issue while shooting. There are most likely other applications where this method would produce positive results.

And he got a crappy new pickup that will never perform like that good old Datsun. By the way, if he let the Datsun go that cheap he gave it away.

This was several years ago, and trust me, he had milked that cow dry.
It was ready for the boneyard.

Sturdy, but not too hot on the quarter mile... unless it's up a mountain

Occasionally I pass one of them going the other way along the way to work, not far from a speed camera. Usually at pretty much the same place.

Optimising any motor vehicle for quarter mile makes it not particularly useful for normal driving.

Tomorrow I need to drive to my employer's other site, about 60 miles, just the other side of a Costco.

Years ago, at the same time I bought my first 4wd truck, a co-worker bought a Camero.
He said "you want to race for a hundred bucks?"
I said "sure, I'll race you." He looked at me with a really puzzled look.
I told him I'd race him, and he could pick the place and I would pick the time, or he could pick the time and I'd pick the place.
We were just about to shake on it when he caught on and backed out.

True. Same with optimising it for a mountain, though
