But think of Romans - they wore sandals.
Thankfully, though, they omitted to wear socks with them. That's a bad look.

You need to come to the Great Pacific Northwet.

Socks with sandals is common winter footwear.

But I wear nicer socks than plain white cotton.

No sir, I wear Gold Toe ankle high socks.

Racer, I consider you a friend, so I'm not going to say what I'm thinking right now...

I will say that those look like great socks, even if they're missing a piece. They'd work well inside a pair of proper shoes

Seconded. Maybe we need to organise Racer an intervention?

Absolutely. We'd do it for something like drug abuse, and this is much, much worse...

Racer, is there a Socks and Sandals Anonymous branch anywhere near you?

Never heard of them.

We do have hospitals though. Great places to go when one gets frostbite in their toes.

See attached for areas at risk of frostbite. Fill those in with leather and the risk is greatly reduced.

There are times when socks and sandals are OK, but they are few and far between.
To help younger members like Bert, and having consulted with my many Engineering and Surveyor friends, I bring you this public service announcement:

Good idea....I'm just watching for you to slip up. Sooner or later....

You know that DPR episode still ticks me....what kind of idiot would stick a high pressure car wash Magic Wand into his camera and flush out the sensor? One that was of the same aptitude as the guy that banned me for suggesting it. To this day, that place SUCKS the big lemon! At least when I get banned here, I pretty much agree I have it coming.

Regards!
