Those girls need a few good meals inside them. Not an ounce of meat on their bones between 'em

Even without the liberal application of "dark oak" wood stain, she's not really my cup of tea, Pete

No doubt, but prefer my meat tender - not chewy and gristley

Woke up at 2 AM this morning feeling rather warm, house temp was 81, no cold air from the AC.
No way could I go back to sleep, checked the outside unit, the fan wasn't turning, so I shut it off at the thermostat.
It's a bit stressful when you know it's going to be near 100 later, and the chances of getting your repair guy here might be slim.

Poked around online and saw that if the compressor is working, but not the fan, to take a stick and try spinning the fan to get it going.
Tried that, it started spinning and the house is cooling back down.
It's a temporary fix, apparently it's a bad start capacitor.
I set the thermostat low enough to keep it running hopefully until repaired.

If you want to can some of that heat and send it here Bob, that would be most welcome!

Hope you get your AC fixed without too much expense.

The Dodge was probably the result of some guy taking pictures while driving down the highway.

Mrs. Racer was driving.

Never underestimate the value of a good stick.

When I turned on the tap of our standpipe* today it started letting off a sound very similar to the drone of a bagpipe. Made me think of Bert chasing (rabid?) squirrels in the wilds of Canadia.

Then I quickly adjusted the pressure to make the awful noise go away

*No, not a fire hydrant. A standpipe.
