Well, I just had a nine week vacation.

Started in my new job yesterday.

Now I feel like I need a vacation.
Yeah, I just wrapped up an 8 month vacation.

Ah, well, I prefer my definition of "vacation" over yours... Even if mine, too, was initially forced.

I notice rescue is on stand-by for when she suffers hypothermia.

One experimental treatment for hypothermia - put the victim in a large microwave to warm them up a bit. At least is was experimental when I saw the papers about it in 1992.

Best treatment is to get the victim naked, get naked yourself and crawl into a sleeping bag with them.
Hopefully the victim is of the opposite sex, or a damn good friend.

So what you are saying Bob, is that just throwing her a warm blanket is not enough?

You are mistaken. "Gremlins" was released in 1984 and demonstrated quite vividly that this method might have side effects.

Besides, I wouldn't call it a "paper"

The paper was in IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering. It fits the usual definition of paper.

Today I found out what the Frankenstein lugs on WWI German helmets were for. Attachment points for extra brow armour for the front of the helmet, to help save snipers and machine gunners, who had to raise their heads above the parapet to do their job.

Ever see what happens to a frog, or a mouse, in a microwave?

It isn't pretty.

Step aside, I'm medically trained, and I can render first aid and CPR.

OK miss, like he said, off with the fancy ski bikini and boots, and hop into this down sleeping bag with me. Looks like you will require some mouth to mouth, and a modified form of CPR should get you back into top form straight away.

No.

No it is not.

One must take control of the situation, and throw himself fully into the matter at hand.

I know of a few people I'd be keen to volunteer for the experiment!
