Yes, I am the envy of all the Datsun enthusiasts West of the Mississippi.
Pity that I did not know about your Z-cars when I was up north this last week. My sister and her boyfriend were visiting my dad and the boyfriend has both a 240 and a 260. He would have loved to have seen your collection.

Datsun...Nissan...Pentax...Ricoh...

Hocir! I am so confused.

I loathed the Luxo-Barge. Why would I park it where it could be seen?

I hear you on the Nissan/Datsun Ricoh/Pentax comparison.

Most of my Z's (Zeds for our Canadian, New Zealand and Australian friends) are just parts cars. I have the race car, a '71 street Z, and a couple low vin number Z's that have potential but are in the corner collecting dust.

Because it IS a luxo-barge?

Maybe our next flagship camera will say Ricoh Pentax on the front. Ricoh on top & little. Pentax below it & larger. Then Pentax Ricoh on the camera after that. Then Ricoh on the front. Pentax on the back. And finally, just Ricoh!

Sort of like the Singlex TLS from the late 1960s to early 1970s (I have one). Depending on when it was made, it might say Singlex on the prism with Ricoh as a small badge to the side or it may say Ricoh on the prism with Singlex TLS on the front beneath the shutter release.

One thing is for sure, they all said Ricoh somewhere and that is why the OP did not buy a K-3.

Did I fix that for you? Or do you have garage space for all those cars?

My cousin built a cavernous garage that's big enough to park his Winnebago in one half, with a backhoe plus 3 other cars in various states of repair in the other half. He can play full court basketball if he moves the vehicles out

That looks like a toy!

In other news, I gotta find likeable stuff to say. Or is it just a slow news day on PF?

A friend of mine in college had a Datsun 2000 (very similar to the red model above). What a nice sports car. I think both were named "Fairlady" for the Japan market.

They were the predecessors to the 240Z; a bit smaller engine (1600cc, 2000cc, 2400cc = 2.4L 240Z) and a classic body design, but still very sporty!!

Yes they were, and still are!! My college 'young lady' drove a silver 2000 (or I should say I drove her silver 2000).

Were her father not so impatient I might be yet today driving her silver Datsun 2000.

They sent some to Finland, for cold weather testing.
Later imports from Datsun did not fare too well with the winter time road salt.

edit: hauling salted pork in a bluebird, might have voided the warranty

Not slow, it is that last post about the demise? of Pentax.
edit: dangerously close to agreeing with that long-forgotten OP
