I corrected my post - I think they're Orthodox. There is a logical justification but it is a real challenge to practice it in the modern world.
For sure. We're living in an increasingly fast paced world.

What's right isn't always easy & what's easy isn't always right.

Some Orthodox will use electric lights but will not use a light switch during the Sabbath. They leave the lights on overnight and cover them with a black shade. It has to do with the definition of "starting a fire". I don't know whether that "some" is closer to "a few" or "most".

Hospital elevators have a special Sabbath mode to stop at every floor so no buttons have to be pressed. One elevator runs in that mode starting sundown Friday while other elevators stay in regular mode.

No.

I'm just mad, and now someone is calling me a racist and anti-Semitic.

Some people. Sheesh!

Sorry. Sometimes people interpret things in a way we didn't mean.

In other news, I'm dangerously close to dropping off the list for a raffle ticket today!

  • Shelby designed the car, based on the Sunbeam Alpine
  • Rootes (Sunbeam) paid Jensen to build it
  • Shelby got a lump-sum plus royalties as payment
  • Engines (260 cid V-8, initially) were supplied directly from Ford
I had a 1964 Alpine Series IV that I rebuilt and always had a keen interest in the Tiger. There are a few Alpines and Tigers here in the Portland area and you will see them on the road when the weather is nice.

The Tiger had a small badge on the side that said "Powered by Ford 260". Because of the "Ford" badge, I never bought a Tiger.

It's easy for us, on the internet, to color text with our own perception because we can't easily discern the intent of the writer.

You didn't use any antisemitic or racist language. You did come across as pretty peeved.

I didn't know that history, thanks for sharing. I also thought they had the 289 in them.

I don't discriminate when it comes to cars, I like them all. I've owned and driven just about anything with wheels, and do have my favorites.

You could always put a Chevy in one of those things!

Sometimes so painfully true.

Well I am.

I entered into a business transaction that failed due to a comedy of errors. When I attempted to straighten it out the other party refused to honor their side of the deal.

So not only will I not get a K3, I will not get a K5IIs.

The Tiger II did, but by then the model was on its way out due to takeover of Rootes by Chrysler.

Steve
Back then it would have kept the K3 outta my hands for sure.
