My grandpa used to say that the most important parts to a wood stove are lifter, leg, and poker.

-16 degrees this morning.
you can often tell the age of people's parents by that admonition

both mom and dad were raised on farms during the depression
mom who was inclined to reason with us, explained that every bite at the table was money out of the family's pocket
so eat everything on your plate so your dad doesn't have to make hard to sit and eat it

a balmy -11 but sun is peeking out...who knows

This sage advice was courtesy of my grandmother.
Say it aloud, ignoring the spelling of "pea", and you'll get the joke.

have to fill my bird feeders daily instead of every 2 days.

Been no further than a hundred feet or so all day. Did some tidying up of the bathroom addition area, disposed of the scrap trim bits, cardboard and paper leftover from the work, vacuumed everything, and had dinner.

Now I'm enjoying a break, and a shot of Laphroaig.

Thanks to Parallax for leading me to drink it.

Still a few hours to go, before the Nekkid New Year pushes aside the Wrinkled And Worn Out 2017.
