Prolonged cold does strange things to people

mrs monochrome is notoriously . . . economical.

Last night she asked if I could book a long weekend in Boca Grande (Florida).

Gasparilla Inn - $495 a night plus Service Fee, Tax, Meals, Drinks, Greens Fees, Activity Fees and Airfare.

She said, I’ll put on a thicker sweater.

Here you go. If you can't go to the beach, you can at least look at it.
Air temperature was 27degC, water 20degC.

About now you would need that sweater in Florida too.

personally

I would crop a bit cutting out the guy and the object at his feet

it distracts from the dog's expression

It's true that we have a penchant for sticking words together right away rather than connecting them with 'of's and 'and's. Many moderately long ones are in daily use, others, while perfectly valid, are more of a curiosity. The longest one I'm aware of that actually exists (rather than just having been made up for shits and giggles) is Rinderkennzeichnungs- und Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz. It was a German state law from 1999 to 2013, and literally means Cattle marking and beef labeling supervision duties delegation law.

Welsh also has some notably long words, especially place names.

Will there be a “Why I won’t buy a GR-E” thread if a tiny xatneP is printed on the back?

GR-E Rumor - no more Ricoh Brand cameras: all to be re-branded Pentax.

There is a discussion on dpreview about a rumored new Ricoh/Pentax GR-E full frame curved sensor camera (E for Extreme). Here are the details – apparently Ricoh will cease all camera production and the GR line will be moved over to the Pentax brand:

It's a DPR thread linking a Pentaxrumours article which refers to a second thread on DPR that referred to a third, now deleted DPR thread.

Solid evidence
