After a weekend of sleet and freezing rain last night it changed to just rain, and still going on, the city has seen numerous power outages, I was fortunate in that all around me at home there were pockets but not my street, (though there was a big branch in the middle of the street last night)
Work this morning is surrounded by blackout areas but work is fine (Boo, I was hoping for a reason to grab the laptop and go home)
Next up flooding....
ah spring in Canada, lovely weather
I was supposed to meet up and shoot someone on the weekend, postponed for the second time. I did spend time fiddling with a new set of TTL Flashes and a very slick trigger for them

not sure why the blotchy bits in the upload, they aren't on the original

I grew up in a small rural town in eastern Illinois

I remember as a high schooler going into the small café and hearing the farmers complain that it was too dry ( wet ) or too hot ( cold )

two things you could count on

none were satisfied with the current conditions

the coffee was hot and strong

Yeah, Ottawa is quite miserable today too.

Kitchen Rules

coffee must be hot and strong, you can always cool or weaken ( why ) it, you can't do the opposite

steaks must be cooked rare, you can always cook it more, you can't uncook it if you start at well done or medium

cast iron cook ware must be heavy, the lighter the cast iron cookware the greater the distance the wife can throw it at you

Love cast iron cookware...just purchased two enamel dutch ovens (4.3 and 6.6 litre) from Canadian Tire as they had them 70% off....a steel(sic)! (yeah I know, they are Iron)

It's a real mixed bag. Road are okay, sidewalks iffy, but it's the slabs of ice falling off the buildings that are scary....and power is on and off across the city. Might have to deploy camping gear for supper tonight.

Cast Iron is some of the best cookware... I can think of 12 different cooking pieces of the top of my head in the house, and there's probably more I don't think about.
