Originally posted by Aslyfox here it goes
I have an 2015 Audi A 5 it developed a problem, throwing codes when accelerating, EPC, Traction Control, Tire Pressure warning
Are those codes, or are they idiot lights on the instrument cluster?
Codes are extracted with a code reader, or by triggering the ECM to flash the CEL (or whatever it is called on your Audi) in a sort of morse code that can be interpreted to collect the fault codes.

There is a code for that?
Originally posted by Aslyfox had it towed to dealership and service in Kansas City Mo.
I bet that cost a buck or two.
Why didn't you drive it there?
Originally posted by Aslyfox their report, the gasoline was contaminated with water
' looked like lemonade '
fuel pump contaminated
You could have saved yourself a lot of money, time and frustration by pouring a container of Heet (gas dryer) available at your local auto parts store.
Did you ask to see this 'lemonade' they found?
Originally posted by Aslyfox fuel needs to be drained and pump replace
Well at least now you have a new fuel pump and a clean gas tank.
Originally posted by Aslyfox NO WARRANTY COVERAGE because of contaminated fuel, told to complain to gas station
Of course.
It isn't Audi's fault the gas station sold you bad fuel.
Originally posted by Aslyfox I use Shell - premium no alcohol
I always buy the lowest price fuel available.
Always have.
Those stations have high volume, and likely have less risk of water or other contaminants.
I have never had problems with water in my fuel. Gasoline or diesel. My Subaru Legacy, bought new in 2005, has over 165,000 miles on it. Never had a problem. My 2001 Dodge Ram, diesel, over 135,000 miles, and never found water in the water/fuel separator.
I know you don't like driving much, so I bet I've consumed a lot more fuel than you over the years.
Originally posted by Aslyfox the gas station says they have had no reports of problems
Of course they did.
They don't want to be on the hook for your expenses.
They just want to sell you more watered down gasoline.
Originally posted by Aslyfox newly installed pumps
So?
As someone else mentioned, the water is in the tanks, underground. The pumps are simply a conduit to the tank on your car.
Originally posted by Aslyfox recent inspected
Again, not of any consequence. Typical inspections of fuel stations are of the accuracy of the pumps, to ensure you, the consumer, get every gallon you pay for.
There are periodic inspections of the surrounding area underground, by core drilling and sampling of the soil to ensure the integrity of the underground tanks, but they only happen every 5 years or so.

Buy Chevron.
Or Sinclair.
Or go to a high volume place like QuickTrip.
