poke salad is TERRIBLE, its made from pokeweed (those big tall weeds with the purple berries)

Poke salad is made from a weed that grows all over the in the South. Basically, one of the few foods the truly destitute can get by simply foraging. It's ubiquitous.

I have heard that if it is not properly prepared i can make you VERY ill and possibly kill you, may be a myth tho.

I dont think its proper etiquette to have it with liver casserole. Although I am sure it would accentuate the taste of chitlins and/or pigs feet. Frankly, if you cannot stomach such fine southern delicacy's you do not deserve a K-3.

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought poke was just the "suthun" pronunciation for porcine meat. Poke chops, poke roast, etc.
