My family lived there in 1966-1967 when dad was in the Navy.
A somewhat disappointing day.
They no longer have an airshow.
And even though the base website said cameras were allowed, I was not allowed to take my K5IIs in with me.
There were three airplanes on static display. An E-18 Growler, a P-3 Orion maritime surveillance aircraft and a P-8 Poseidon maritime surveillance aircraft (a modified Boeing 737).
The P-3 and P-8 were open for walkthroughs, and I did go inside the P-8. The Growler was simply on display, but not open.
There was also a search and rescue helicopter on display, and a PBY Catalina seaplane open. I was able to go inside the PBY, even sat in the cockpit.
Oh, and I got a nice sunburn after walking on the apron all day.
