Nothing easy-going about them jackets when you run the lawnmower over their nest. After the first sting, I was out of there...
Went back two days later, armed with spray and long-sleeves. Had to go and retrieve the Husqvarna.
Even K3 could not have saved my bacon that day.

Yes. Yes it is.

Bald-faced hornet. Not to be confused with the relatively easygoing Yellowjacket.

Steve
These guys are usually much less aggressive than the Yellow Jackets.

Remember that for people without particular sensitivity to wasp stings, these guys are your friend. They are the dragonflies of the wasp world, feeding on flies, yellow jackets, aphids, caterpillars, K3's or anything else we don't want around the house.
Save for the one that awoke from the winter nap and spoiled an otherwise nice drive into town I have never had any issues with the Bald Faced Hornets.

It's those nasty little Yellow Jackets that will come after you even when you are innocently passing by their nest that have been trouble for me.

There are cottonwood trees on my property, and every now and then one decides to lay down. One mild midsummer's day I was dutifully cutting up one that had fallen into my yard. I had just about cleaned up the mess and had about 6 feet of the trunk left to cut and move away when an entire nest of those tiny black and yellow bastrerds came after me.

You see there was a nest of them in the thicket near where the tree had fallen from.

Even though I was not within 20 feet of them they must have perceived me and my noisy chain saw as a threat.

Of course there was another visit to town and the ER after that.

And that evening I doused the nest with charcoal lighter fluid and put an end to their existence.

I know, I am a bad man.

And I will not get a K3.

Not in a boat.

Not on a float.

Not in a car.

Not in a bar.

But I may have a beer in that bar!

Long, long time ago, I was cruising on my bike on this island, wearing t-shirt and shorts.
A wasp hits my helmet and falls between the gas tank and my thigh...Took everything I had to not spill that 300+ pound Honda, right there and then.

Even a K3 would have ended with scratches.

Nor thy neighbor's K3.

This has no competition, not even from bacon. Except when wrapped with bacon.
No link, sorry. Some Moose recipe. Might as well have been a possum and cheese recipe

I'm chillin' in the dump body capital of the US for the weekend.

Without Hocir.

But I got some bacon at the grocery store today, gonna have it with my breakfast in the morning.

And I got some Yuengling to wash down the popcorn I'm gonna have while I watch a movie and ignore the hookers that keep knocking on my door.

Maybe I should call 911.

I know you have your conceal carry and at minimum a 9mm. All red blooded Americans should.

But remember you pay them to leave lol

Yes I did.

And I'd do it again too!

I do have a 9mm, but it is too short to be very accurate.

My Ruger 357 with a 6" barrel is much better, and usually right where it needs to be.

Uh uh. They don't even get an open window. I tell them to ****off and leave without even opening the curtain.

And I do it without a K3.

Well, as evidenced by my abysmal post count today, I've been busy all day. We drove the couple-three hours to NOLA for Wizard World today. And we're still here. Waiting for the next costume contest segment...

But I have gotten to play with shooting settings on my k5ii with pictures I don't care about. And that's why I won't buy a k3. I can't handle what I've got now!
