I want my crust on my bread, not my bacon

" Another type of Canadian bacon is also known as peameal bacon. It is also made from the loin, but it is cured in a sweet pickle and it has a crust made from yellow cornmeal or peas "

No because all the pixel peepers are having a heated debate as to whether or not the built in noise reduction totally destroys the image quality and turns the camera into a paperweight.. So the K1-II is either a bit of an upgrade, or a throwback to the days of 1 megapixel full frame cameras.
Not to get technical, but wouldn't that only affect the JPEG? The RAW shouldn't be affected by noise-reduction....or am I missing something

I know. It's pretty much useless. At least for all those millions who shoot red fine woven cloth at 12,800 ISO and need to reproduce it 12'x8'. And study it at close range. Next to an identical image taken with a K-1 Classic. Because then you might see better detail produced by the latter. Real or imagined, but you might see it.

As I said, utterly useless.

No, that's the thing. The accelerator chip works on the raw file. And when shooting high ISO there is - maybe - a slight loss of detail as a result of the noise reduction. At least in the reds. Maybe.

It is actually processed in the RAW files too. It seems to kick in about ISO 640 or so.

Speaking of the Resident Nerd... Huh, we weren't? Anyway... It just struck me he must be really good at chasing girls (or boys of that's his thing, by all means). The point is, he will be very efficient chasing pretty much anyone with those pipes. Far, far away.

Looks like the correction is quite extreme...
