Yes, science class. I hear they don't have that kind of stuff in schools anymore. Autoshop and woodshop either.

I remember in high school we dissected giant earthworms and frogs.

And the high school I went to in Oregon had a full year of "shop" for the freshmen that was 4 quarters.

One quarter was drafting. I designed the workbench and mini bike frame I built in metal shop and wood shop.

One quarter was power mechanics, and I took apart a small engine and rebuilt it.

Another quarter was metal shop. I fabricated a mini bike frame.

The next quarter was wood shop. I made the seat for the mini bike, and built a workbench.

School was fun then.
Indeed! It is a true shame that wood, metal, and auto shop have pretty much disappeared from the curriculum. It was in shop that I learned how to use a scale ruler and to read a blue print. It was in shop that I learned the value of and difficulty of fine carpentry. I regret to this day that due to a change of schools, I never had a chance to take metal shop.

I think that I can confidently say that it was those classes in the practical arts that allow me to fully appreciate the construction and features of the K-3. A pox on Hocir for making it expedient that I not buy one!!!

Then you shall be shunned.

To be ignorant of Hocir and Igunaq and the ultimate doom of Tokyo is to not fully understand The Thread.

we called it "junior high school" in my day.
There is a difference between middle school and Jr. High. Middle school is typically grades 6, 7 and 8 in the districts that have them while Jr. High is grades 7, 8 and 9. The rational for Jr. High is that 9th graders have more in common with 7th graders than 6th graders have with 8th graders. All the less Freshmen that get bullied by Sophomores.

I already find the keywords random and when I think of ways to put them together I start to laugh.

Oops! Cinderella is having a contrived "wardrobe malfunction". All day long, her dress was fine and was "up". Until she took the stage for the costume contest, which was being filmed for SyFy for "Heroes of Cosplay".
