The frost damages on some badly constructed roads never seem to go away. Out where my parents live there was little done to fix the damages from year to year for maybe 20 years, then they dug it all up and re-did it properly. After that there hasn't been much damage.

Here they only seem to resurface, not rebuild. So if the old footings were poor it is a problem.
