Red Bud, IL.
A typical, small, quaint, midwestern USA town.

" ... quaint, midwestern USA town" - from what I remember (from the 1980s!), most of them weren't "quaint", just quite "mundane" (no offence meant, but that was what I found at the time!)

I used PC Part Picker to put it together. When I actually ordered everything some of the prices had changed, and one item (CPU cooler) wound up being not available so I had to find an alternate.

Quite a bit more than I remember spending, but there it is.

And I already had two monitors, a mouse and keyboard.

Last spring I replaced the two disc drives with a set of three 2TB drives in RAID.
Now that quite a kick-butt system! Do you game with it?

I don't know about kissing butt, but it kicks some.

It is basically a gaming platform, but like the laptop you got for your daughter, it handles graphics very well, so I built it for 3D CAD and as a digital darkroom for processing my digital images.

Don't you think we all could use some "mundane" in this crazy world?
I do, but then again I'm old and mundane.

I just ate a bacon topped donut for dessert, purchased from a small bakery in a mundane small town.
