Thanks for the suggestions. I will look into them to see if I can sort the problem.

Another problem I found was the printing was producing really flat looking pictures - not sure if it is my printer. I got an only sightly improved picture from my proper camera using Silkypix. I expected better since an earlier generation printer I had (s/w no longer supported and cartridges no longer available) produced quite good colours. The present one makes pictures look like film pictures underexposed about 1-2 stops.
I don't bother printing my own pictures anymore; I just take them to a good printer down the street

An iPhone has the Lightning connector.

Plug the Lightning/USB cable into it, and the other end into a USB connector on your computer.

Open up Windows Explorer and navigate to the iPhone. The folder with the photos can be copied and pasted into the folder of your choice in the computer.

Easy Squeezy
No Pain
No Stain
I heard that iPhones don't store pictures in normal jpeg format...any truth to that?

I feel your pain. Because I live it

But hey, it does finance my vices - which is a good thing

I think.

Dunno about the iPhone, but my iPod makes jpeg pictures.

Let's just say I'm glad that's not an option. Unfortunately neither is being retired and my age. Yes, I actually think I could handle that quite well. I'd still want to work, but then I could choose to do things that are meaningful to me rather than having to think of what it pays. With a bit more guts I could have done that now, too, but I'm too spineless to choose a less well paid job.

But hey, it's not as if I'm a lawyer!

Good morning friends!
Even though our numbers have dwindled, I still look forward each day to the wit and wisdom posted on this thread.
It helps keep my mind sharp, or at least a bit sharper.

I'm giving bacon a rest today and having a piece of leftover steak. with an egg and toast, for breakfast.
