It looks really terrified.
It is resting now, having attained the correct internal temperature.

My job didn't either.
On the other hand there's not many places around the StL area where I can't point to a building, subdivision, or other construction project that I didn't have a hand in laying out, many from start to finish.
I know the feeling Bob. So far, only one house I have designed many years ago has been demolished to build something bigger. All the others are still standing!

The 18 lb. bird is on, and it barely fits height wise.
I managed to get some butter under the breast skin, first time trying that.

Are you sure that's a turkey Bob? Looks like it could be a small ostrich!

Before I hit the road it's time for me to share with you a Lee Hays moment:

IN DEAD EARNEST

If I should die before I wake
All my bone and sinew take
Put them in the compost pile
To decompose a little while

Sun, rain and worms will have their way
Reducing me to common clay
All that I am will feed the trees
And little fishes in the seas

When corn and radishes you munch
You may be having me for lunch
Then excrete me with a grin
Chortling, There goes Lee again

Sounds tasty.

But these two boys clearly have had too much.

Well when you are chugging away on that vélo and burning calories, the cool raindrops will help you stay cool.

The turkey and everything else is but a memory. Two slices of pie, one apple, one pumpkin, with butter pecan ice cream.

The leftovers have been divided and given to the other family members, who have all left.

Mrs. Racer and I have just finished cleaning the kitchen, and put the remainder of today's feast aside for later.

Now it is time to sit quietly and reflect on the day, the family time, the food. The sky is growing dark, as this late autumn day comes to a close.

*sigh*

make those numbers negative and you will have the temp correct for my Black Friday Photo excursion with another PF member. No need for a K-3 since I have a KP!
Got to our hoodecai too late so ended up driving to a place running a buffet style turkey feast, it was good but more expensive than I prefer.
So still have the food induced sleepiness. And no loads of dishes to wash!
