Not one of my first, but one that I have played and worn out the grooves on a couple times.

Another from that album.

I thought something like that often.

An irony - the way we design fridges as movable appliances means that in winter we warm the house using central heating and then cool the fridge to make it cooler than the heated house, using yet more power we pay for, admittedly discharging the heat into the room to assist the C/H.

Seems to me it would be a good idea to take advantage of the cold/cold outside and simply transfer some of that cold air from outside to inside the fridge, using a thermostat to control how much, and therefore the temperature inside the fridge. Would require some kind of split system, so the fridge would no longer be a freestanding appliance, and so long as some CountDracula declares to the competing makers what interface is to be used the internal and external parts of the system would become separate devices which can be independently changed when that part of the set of stuff fails. (Kind of like we can change the taps in bathroom completely independently of changing the hot water boiler/storage kit.)
Just get yourself one of these 1920's refrigerators.

Block of ice and you're good to go.

Monday.

Ugh!

Just finishing breakfast and the daily cup of coffee, then I will hobble out to the car on crutches and make the 32 mile journey to the Big Shed for another fun filled day of restricted duty.

Yay.

Good morning!

Have fun Chuck, and don't forget to send postcards!
Not much melting going on here today, but in the 40F's the next few.
Mrs Bob and I are venturing out for lunch later.

Probably what Charlie would call a good day

Apart from the hobbling and the longer commute I feel much the same about Mondays.

Oh, and my wife still is in Zimbabwe. She sent me message that fuel prices had near trebled over night and that there is some unrest as a result. The reason given for the price hike is to "remedy fuel shortages"... All is quiet where she stays, though. Always good get notice before it hits the news (which it has).

Might be they shut down social media as well, but I'd be surprised if they shut down the mobile networks for any extended time. I just hope the situation doesn't make travelling too difficult.
